2015 BANG WAI - GU SHU (ripe) ripe
one brick - 250g £ 29.10

From Bang Wai mountain in Lancang county, this charming, ripe Pu erh tea brick has a mellow, sweet taste with a hint of flowers and tropical fruits. Gu Shu, literally means ‘old tree’, and the whole leaves are hand-picked from a very ancient, pesticide free tea forest on Bang Wai mountain.

Grown at high altitudes, with abundant sunshine and a mild climate the ancient trees produce a tea of exceptional quality. After picking, the leaves are sun-dried, withered, fermented and then pressed into a brick form. The resulting tea has a good body and flavour with a Chinese date aroma when steeped.

Good value, really pleasant woody / earthy Shu Pu erh with a nice mouth feel, holds up well to multiple steepings.
