2013 NAN NUO little Pu erh Tea cake (raw) backhessinraw tea
one cake - 100g £ 20.90

We have selected one of the most famous raw Pu erh tea from the NanNuo mountain in Menghai. Picked from wild arbour trees at altitudes of between 1300-1400m, where the climate and rich organic soil produce a tea of exceptional quality. The leaves are hand-picked from a pesticide free ancient tea forest, are withered and then hand-rolled to release moisture before being laid carefully to dry in the sunshine.

The dried leaves are pressed into 100g tea cakes at the Gao Shan Yuan Factory in Menghai.

These ancient tea forests are owned and cared for by local tea farmers who take great pride in producing a tea which is pure in origin.

The resulting tea is mellow with a soft, fruity, sweet taste and a sweet aroma.

Smashing, light “Sheng” tea which deserves good space to let the leaves expand while steeping. Once you let it breath it’s a delicious, mellow slightly floral, slightly smoky tea with what feels like strong green-tea elements. It’s not my favourite, as I’m a “shou” fan, but sometimes you want something a little fresher and less earthy and this tea is perfect for those moments (I have a pot on the go right now!)

This is the 3rd tea I've ordered from Abbey tea. Delivery was prompt (3 days) packaging sturdy. Now the tea! For a young sheng pu-erh this tea is very mellow tasting slight smoke/camphor aroma fresh floral up front folding out into a wonderful sweet taste and lingering mouthfeel. I could drink this every day, actually I have been :)
2 thumbs up from me!
